Really? Is this the best bar because you've never been anywhere else? You forgot to mention this place only sells beer and wine and the bar is lined with grouchy old timers during the day. Get off douchey 2nd St. to find the REAL best bars in Long Beach. Try starting with The Stache or The Pike or if you insist on hanging out in Belmont Shore, go to Shannon's Bayshore--at least it can claim that a Sublime song was recorded there.
Best Long Beach Bar - 2013
When it comes to a great, unpretentious spot in Long Beach, the Acapulco Inn can't be beat. Featuring not just cheap happy hour specials but also cool and random arcade games (prepare to meet your death, video deer) and two pool tables, the spot is spacious enough to offer some elbow room but also filled with people you'd actually like to talk to. During the day it's pretty mellow, but at night the young crowd comes out here to Belmont Shore — particularly the ladies — and the party really gets started. It's well worth the gas money you'll spend getting here. 5283 E. Second St., Long Beach. (562) 439-3517, ailongbeach.com. —Juan Gutierrez
