Best Hunting Shop Los Angeles 2013

Bass Pro Shops

Ask not whether Bass Pro Shops has remote-control duck decoys but rather which species of remote-control duck decoy might be in stock. This store is Bloomingdale's for people who like to kill animals. If you need it to hunt, trap, track, shoot, skin, smoke, cook or otherwise prepare game, Bass Pro has it. Ditto the myriad accoutrements required for venturing outdoors to acquire said game — camping and hiking supplies, boots, jackets, hats, walking sticks. Boats, even. Big boats. And crossbows. Big crossbows. The Rancho Cucamonga branch of Bass Pro Shops, in particular, is a doozy. It has an 8,000-gallon freshwater aquarium with catfish and bluegill right next to the elevator. Did we mention the taxidermy? Yeah. Lots of it. Hanging all over the lodge-inspired lobby area. The shop even offers predator hunting classes to teach you how to bag one of your own. Or maybe you're just browsing. In which case, how about a plastic deer-head beer cozy? 7777 Victoria Gardens Lane, Rancho Cucamonga, 91739. (909) 922-5500, basspro.com. —Gendy Alimurung
