The "Rock" in this store's name may refer to the surrounding neighborhood, but it also references the attitude of owners Peter Berman and Teresa Apollo. Rock Dog & Cat is a place where pet ownership "rocks," where both pets and their owners can enjoy a sense of style, health and general well-being. That means a carefully selected assortment of toys, meat chew sticks, harnesses, carriers, leashes, collars, shampoos and conditioners, novelty shirts (for both humans and dogs), breath fresheners, funkily designed food and water bowls and, of course, a wide variety of the highest quality food. After spending 10 years in the pet-sitting business, the expansion to a retail shop came somewhat organically to the Bermans. Also, as a professional comedian with a half-hour TV special under his belt, Peter Berman is certainly the funniest pet-related proprietor in L.A. County. 1916 Colorado Blvd., Eagle Rock.
