If you're looking for a quick weekend getaway, there's no need to head to the 'Bu or (gasp!) the O.C. Instead, we suggest Palos Verdes' Terranea Resort, particularly because restaurant/bar Nelson's is a crown jewel. Perched atop the Palos Verdes cliffs, Nelson's is one of the most removed places in all of Los Angeles County. From the bar you can look out at Catalina Island while sipping a cucumber margarita and downing crabcake sliders.
