Chubby's Cruisers in Culver City is for people who are into their bikes, which is not people who are into cycling, necessarily. What's the difference? Accessories. A whole crapload of colorful rear racks, and front racks, and fenders, and skull-shaped valve caps, and wicker baskets, and tiki coconut cup holders, and twisted Apehanger handlebars, and white leather quilted saddles with matching grips, and red sidewall tires, and watermelon helmets, monkey decals, 8-ball bells and flugelhorns. Chubby's has it all. Yeah, it has bikes, too. A pretty decent selection of cruisers, mostly, as the name implies. And you can get just a bike, which the staff will even let you try before you buy, in the rear parking lot.
