Best Stylin' Haberdashery Los Angeles 2011

Dudes, when you're ready to surrender your hoodies and grubby track pants, head to Confederacy in Silver Lake. Superstylist Ilaria Urbinati (who styles Giovanni Ribisi and Bradley Cooper) co-owns this elegant store. Guys come here specifically for suits — simple, deftly tailored numbers evoking the clean, masculine Mad Men era. They come for Calvin Klein button-down striped dress shirts to wear with those suits. And Rag & Bone neckties. And Gentry tie bars. And cuff links. And pocket-square handkerchiefs. They come for the whole enviable ensemble that separates the men from the boys. Sartorially inclined gay men will fawn. Women will swoon. You will look like a million bucks and probably cost about as much. In other words, bring money. Bring a lot of it. Because though this look is approachable, it isn't exactly cheap. A Band of Outsiders blazer will set you back $1,600. A Dries Van Noten shirt, $400. Hey, at least the valet parking is free. 4661 Hollywood Blvd., Los Feliz. (323) 913-3040, shopconfederacy.com.
