Head on up to Adam's Pack Station on weekends for striking mountain views, juicy charbroiled campfire hot dogs, "Kick-Ass burgers" (so dubbed in honor of the station's four-legged residents) and a cool, cheap bottle of beer. Quite possibly the last year-round pack station of its kind in the country, Adam's is not just a launching point for hiking Big Santa Anita Canyon, but it's also a true relic of a bygone era. With a small general store and a full stable of mules and donkeys (yes, including one named Eeyore). The animals carry goods to the 80 historic cabins dotting the canyon floor, you don't even have to hike or camp to take in the full rustic scene.
