Map & Details>>

Situated in the 1928 Art Deco Oviatt Building, Maxwell DeMille’s Cicada Club keeps the glamour of the ’20s through ’40s alive with vintage orchestras and Old Hollywood entertainment and dining. Grab the prix-fixe menu for $49 a person on Sunday nights, or skip dinner, pay the $10 entry fee and dance the night away. Old-school drinks such as the Moscow Mule or Singapore Sling, mixed by a strong pourer, encourage vintage drunkenness and the dance moves that follow. Men wearing jackets and ties, women in vintage cocktail dresses, and something about doing the kangaroo hop set the romantic tone. The Oviatt building is supposedly haunted by the ghost of James Zera Oviatt and they request any sightings be reported to management. What could be more titillating than dancing, drinking and suddenly finding yourself cast in The Great Gatsby meets The Shining? 617 S. Olive St., dwntwn. All true! I go every chance I can get. Where else could I wear my fur cape? See you Sunday!
