Toys That Puke, Pee, and Bleed Light: Marcus Tremonto's Glowing Neon Munny Lightbotz for Kidrobot
There's a new breed of Munny out and they light up. These 2010 limited edition "Lightbotz" were created by lighting artist Marcus Tremonto for Kidrobot. Each piece is hand made by the artist.
The people who collect vinyl toys get a lot of heat from people who don't. Naysayers criticize them for spending tons of cash on, well, toys. Tremonto, though, said in an interview that he refuses to abandon things that mean something to him. That he feels no need to reject aspects of his childhood or compartmentalize his life into discrete blocks of time, that existence is all interconnected and that objects are important. Or can be. He makes a good point.
In any case, the new Munnys are lovely.
