Upcoming Events

Yes, it's the one you've been waiting for: A Clockwork Orange screens as part of LACMA's ongoing Stanley Kubrick series at 7:30 p.m.

But if Malcolm McDowell's character's vision of morality is for some reason too tame for you, instead check out the Nihilism Film Festival at the Echo Park Film Center at 8 p.m. It's a series of "hilariously offensive short films" that also includes a "Blessing of the Televisions" if you're able to haul yours in and get there 15 minutes early (see more in GoLA).

Saturday, Dec. 8

Die-hard fans of the Alien franchise should head to the Egyptian Theatre today for a marathon screening of all four films in the series, plus Ridley Scott's prequel-of-sorts Prometheus. Blastoff is at 1 p.m.

Also all day, across town at the Aero, is the Santa Monica Film Festival, which is mainly a series of schmoozing opportunities and short films, including documentary Pot Country, about the history of Humboldt County and its marijuana industry.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

Cinefamily is screening a world premiere of a program it's calling Triple Fisher: The Lethal Lolitas of Long Island. It's a mash-up of three films telling the story of Amy Fisher, the New York teenager who in the early '90s was convicted of killing her lover's wife. Drew Barrymore, Alyssa Milano and Nöelle Parker each tried to play her, but who is the real onscreen Amy? Find out tonight at 10:30 p.m.
