First things first: Amanda Seyfried looks absolutely nothing like Linda Lovelace. Tonight's screening of Lovelace, the new biopic about the fractured life of Deep Throat star Linda Lovelace, isn't about total verisimilitude in representing the doomed blue-movie star. It's really about nostalgia -- a process by which the crags and canyons of past eras are smoothed out to create the smooth, rolling plains of what we think is the past. The screening (part of the "Outside the Box Office" screening series) is followed by a Q&A with co-directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, with moderator USC School of Cinematic Arts Professor Leonard Maltin -- yes, that Leonard Maltin, the critic whose BOMB ratings in his movie guides made sure people found out which movies were really worth watching.
