Burbank may be reeling from a wrongful-death suit brought by the family of a Burbank Police Department veteran who shot himself on a public street, ongoing FBI and grand-jury investigations into police malfeasance and (of course) the upcoming loss of The Tonight Show, soon headed to New York and that whippersnapper Jimmy Fallon. But at least the bucolic suburb still has the distinguished cultural touchstone of Porn Star Karaoke. Located within the cozy confines of old-school red-leatherette lounge Sardo's, the weekly event is a thoroughly bizarre collision of adult-film stars, fan geeks and horndogs that's fast approaching its 10th anniversary of weekly debauchery. Frequently hosted by empress of erotomania Nicki Hunter and often attended by de facto industry godfather Ron Jeremy, this kaleidoscopic mix of off-key caterwauling, cleavage-jamming body shots, torso-tossing exhibitionism and sheer just-for-the-hell-of-it shenanigans is a wonder unique unto itself. The city proclaims itself "The Town Behind the Tinsel," and at Sardo's, you really get an up-close glimpse of what all, er, goes down back there. Sardo's Grill & Lounge, 259 N. Pass Ave., Burbank; every Tuesday, 9 p.m.; free. (818) 846-8126, sardosbar.com.
