More About

Whether you like bacon in a sandwich, with eggs or sprinkled over a salad, you'll be in hog heaven at the first ever L.A. Bacon Festival. Finally, the pig gets to be the top dog thanks to the nearly four dozen eateries from La Crescenta to Hermosa Beach that either serve or specialize in swine. Well-known places like Kitchen 24, Mendocino Farms and The Federal Bar with be going snout to snout with food trucks and catering companies, serving up both savory and sweet samples. Our recommendation: The candied bacon and bacon ice cream from The Sticky Pig (bacon donuts are as passé now as boutique cupcakes). And if you're really daring, try the sashimi-style raw pork and crispy pig ears from Chris Cosentino's Pigg at Umamicatessen in downtown L.A. Either way, pigging out is required, so wear loose clothing and bring a big purse. Petersen Automotive Museum, 6060 Wilshire Blvd., Miracle Mile; Sat., Feb. 9, 2-6 p.m.; $40.
