Between the triple threat reality of Three Mile Island, Chernobyl and the most recent — and, to date, probably most egregious — Fukushima incidents, our ultimate fate may very likely be an eerily flickering, glowingly opalescent radioactive one. Thankfully, the just published A Guide to Living on our Radioactive Planet and its authors Dr. Robert Peter Gale, M.D. and Eric Lax are on hand to provide some much needed perspective on this stickily pervasive potential disaster. This ALOUD program's stated aim "to correct myths and establish facts" is drastically welcome, because the simple fact of the matter is that governments invariably lie about any such incident. Hell, they can even go beyond that — one Japanese politician stated last year that it was his constituents "duty to eat contaminated food." This evening shall play as equal parts critical thought, scientific analysis, and Rod Serling-esque angst acknowledgment.
