The American Cinematheque's seventh annual Dusk-to-Dawn Horrorthon is quite necessarily sponsored by Pete's Coffee and Monster Energy Drink the perfect accompaniment to the jitters of this year's pulse-pounding, spine-melting, brain-shattering cavalcade of carnage. In between the films there'll be free food, giveaways, all sorts of trailers and shorts and the ever-ominous promise of "surprises!" The films! Hellraiser (1987, a 25th-anniversary screening); Motel Hell (1980; the oddly prescient slasher meditation on organic farming: "It takes all kinds of critters to make Farmer Vincent's Fritters!"; The Devil's Rain (1975; starring William Shatner as the accidental Satanist); Christine (1983; future Dexter director Keith Gordon stars as the man in lethal love with his '58 Plymouth Fury); The Living Dead at Manchester Morgue (1974; in which an insect-killing radiation device raises zombies in England; one fresh from an autopsy is particularly gross); and The Manitou(1978, in which Tony Curtis's phony spiritualist fights a 400-year-old medicine man growing out of Susan Strasberg's back!). Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave.; Santa Monica; Sat., Oct. 27, 7:30 p.m.; $20. (310) 260-1528, americancinemathequecalendar.com.
