If you're going to have a Druid film festival, you might as well have it where a corn field used to be — you know, in case of crop circles. But while there's no confirming or denying the actual presence of ancient nature-wizards at tonight's proceedings, there's still a good chance of getting your mind blown. Wizards or no, the 6th Annual Druid Underground Film Festival still packs a lot of weird shit into two hours of screenings in a two-part program. First up: a slate of work the organizers describe as "a one-hour hell-ride mega-mashup of absurd footage" including, but not limited to, police fight-school training, evangelical agit-prop, and supernatural horror. At some point, there will be an honoring of past pioneers and DUFF winners — sick, twisted heroes to the craven masses, all. Then the main event: new shorts by a dozen filmmakers, such as Brennan Hill's "Hero/Psycho," Rich Polysorbate's (possibly not his real name) "Smerdly's Seahorse," Michael Park's "Clown Town," festival curator William Burgess' own "Hipster Holocaust" and Danilo Parra's viral video sensation "The Torture Room" (pictured). Don't worry, that last one's not about Guantanamo, it's about giving a Persian cat a bath. It's still terrifying, though. HM157, 3110 N Broadway, dwntwn.
