More About

If Rebellion and La Haine — two politically charged films by French filmmaker Mathieu Kassovitz — aren't enough to convince you to head to the Egyptian tonight, then perhaps the discussion moderated by Guillermo del Toro will be.

Across town at the Aero, meanwhile, are two music documentaries on Bob Dylan and Lil Wayne, respectively: D.A. Pennebaker's Don't Look Back and Adam Bhala Lough's The Carter. The show is free, but we've yet to confirm whether purple drank will be sold at the concession stand.

Also, it's your last chance to catch Cinefamily's one-week run of Beyond the Black Rainbow, a sci-fi throwback likely to alter your mind all by itself.

Friday, June 29

Remind yourself of a simpler, gorier time when vampires were just vampires with From Dusk Till Dawn and The Vampire's Coffin at the New Beverly. The double feature starts at 8, which, hey, look at that, is actually pretty close to dusk.

Saturday, June 30

If your Saturday night absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be made on somebody's part, Animal House plays the Egyptian at 7:30.

Sunday, July 1

Hey baby, it's (almost) the Fourth of July — so go see 1776, Peter H. Hunt's film of the Broadway musical about the signing of the Declaration of Independence, at the Egyptian.
