More About

"A Day of Weimar: Three Illustrated Lectures on Sex and the Occult in Prewar Berlin" takes place in one fascinating, fact-filled afternoon-evening. Mel Gordon — a professor of theater arts at the University of California, Berkeley, who's authored 13 books and written extensively on pop culture in illuminating historical fashion — will focus on sex and the occult in prewar Berlin. You don't have to dress the part but you may want to, as the day starts with "Voluptuous Panic — The Erotic World of Weimar Berlin" (4 p.m.), followed by "Erik Jan Hanussen, Hitler's Jewish Clairvoyant"; (6 p.m.) and "Anita Berber, the Dancer of Depravity" (8 p.m.). Each lecture will be accompanied by "unusual or censured film clips from 'lost' German classics." Trepany House, 4773 Hollywood Blvd., Hlywd.; Sat., June 23, 4, 6 & 8 p.m.; $10 for all three lectures. (323) 666-4268. trepanyhouse.org. -
Sat., June 23, 4, 6 & 8 p.m., 2012
