In a season rife with wonderful, out-of town companies dropping in for a bit of SoCal weather and taking the ticket proceeds back to wherever, L.A.'s own bring it home with the launch of the Los Angeles Dance Festival. Co-sponsored by Diavolo Dance Company's Jacques Heim and Brockus Dance Project's Deborah Brockus, this debut festival brims with performances by 16 of L.A.'s most interesting and innovative contemporary companies. Saturday's show boasts BodyTraffic, Dorn Dance Company, L.A. Contemporary Dance Company, Lineage Dance Company, Method Contemporary Dance, Vox Dance Theater, Regina Klenjoski Dance Company, Lula Washington Dance Company (pictured). Saturday includes Invertigo Dance Theatre, Ptero Dance Theater, Oni Dance, KDUB Dance, Nugent Dance Theater, Kybele Dance Theater, In/Ex Dance Project, and Rhetoracle Dance Company.
