Also, last week's cover story, "Big Pimpin'," reported that Bishop Don "Magic" Juan fathered 27 children. We obtained that number from Juan, but after the story came out, he contacted us to clarify that he only has "about 23." Duly noted.

To FormerLib160, as a liberal, I actually felt sorry for Breibart and didn't think he was long for keeping his sanity. I had no inclination that he'd die, but I thought he was on the edge of insanity. I worked with special ed. children for a quarter century and he reminded me of some of those children who'd been abused in some way. When I saw that video of him raging at the protesters outside the recent C-PAC conference, I was alarmed. I thought that it might not be long before he'd be committed or at least need psychiatric help. I don't write this in condemnation, but in truth.

It's David Blankenhorn writing. You are obviously free to tell your readers that the moon is green, if that's what you want to do, but under no reasonable standard of truth-telling can it be accurately said that I "switched sides in midtestimony."

I know you are a busy journalist, with much important work to do, and so I think you may have temporarily forgotten in this case how the sliming is supposed to work. You are SUPPOSED to say, that I said on the stand that gay marriage would in some respects make us "more American" -- something that in fact I wrote in my book (The Future of Marriage), and that I believe, and that is a sentence that since the trial has been used endlessly by the lawyers on the other side, and by many others (including the play people, whom you reference) for their own PR purposes. THAT'S what you are supposed to say, for sliming purposes. Maybe you need a "How to Slime" cheat sheet on hand, with individualized instructions, so you won't slip up like this again as you pursue with such skill your journalistic calling.
