Excellent article on the stop-sign camera scam run by the Mountains Recreation and Conservation Authority. This is simply a tax by ambush on every user of certain local backroads. I was the victim of a $175 ticket when I visited Temescal Gateway Park a year ago. The entrance road is a short stretch of very thinly traveled driveway connecting Sunset to two parking lots. It would be almost impossible to have an accident there. After I got the ticket, I had to examine the online video several times to be certain I had not come to an absolute complete stop at the sign (where no sign needs to be). What an outrageous abuse.
