Earthquake Measuring 3.3 Jolts Beverly Hills, WestsideThe L.A. Independent Fashion Consortium Show proves that even in deepest, darkest Valley Village, there's something interesting going on. Ushering out this year's Fashion Week, it's presented by Valley Village designer Rico Adair, assembling fabric-based artists and designers Bare Sole, Beauty Is Pain, Mortimer (the recycled clothing line by master magpies Harriet Selling and Alexandra Herr), Pleasure Doing Business, Soji like a team of couture superheroes dedicated to truth, justice and a real sense that you shouldn't be wearing those horrible wedges and where did you get that dress? It's awful! And those shoes, and that coat jeeeeez! The show is emceed for some wonderfully bizarre reason by spoken-howl artist Clint Catalyst, who no doubt will lend his caustic comments to the outfits on display and the music at hand: Tunnelmental Experimental Assembly and avant ethno music merchants Foundaround.
