Corrections

In last week's Victoria Jackson cover, we wrongly stated that Jackson imitated Tina Turner on Johnny Carson's show. It was actually Diana Ross. Also, in "The Phantom," about surfing pioneer Bob Simmons, Hawaiian big-wave pioneer George Downing was misidentified as George Freeth. We regret the errors.

I side with the Right on most issues regarding the economy but with the Left on personal and religious issues.

Patrick, what confuses me about someone like out is that, how can you side with the right about the economy? Look at the history: They talk the talk, but don't walk it. Dick Cheney said it best for the right, "Deficits don't matter." Every time the right gets into office, they blow a hole in the budgets with taxcuts. Look at Gov. Walker in Wisconsin. He railed against unions, and he gave the wealthy tax cuts. So he's got this big deficit, and what does he do the other day, he takes the money from the bank settlements, awarded to make people whole from the phony mortgages, and uses that to close his deficit hole.
