Kevin Nealon is one of the most underrated stand-up comics working today, armed with a wit so dry it slices like a paper cut. He's starred for the past seven years as accountant Doug Wilson on the Showtime black comedy Weeds, a heavyweight of absurdist thought moving seamlessly through the pot-fueled antics of the characters around him. He spent nine brilliant years at the "Weekend Update" news desk on Saturday Night Live and shows up on a regular basis in Adam Sandler's comedies, playing utility with just enough shine to be memorable but not so much that he detracts. Edging toward the venerable tradition of such chortlesome luminaries as Bob Saget or Skip Stephenson, last year Nealon hosted TBS's Funniest Commercials of the Year for the fifth time. Not that he's lost any of his panache by doing so his one-man show attests to that.
