When it comes to classic television comedy, The Dick Van Dyke Show is the cream of the funny. There are so many hilarious episodes, including the one where Rob tries to hide his injured body from Laura after a skiing accident; the one where Laura spills Alan Brady's secret on national TV; and the one where Laura gets her toe stuck in a hotel bathroom's bathtub. And any episode where Rob and Laura dance in their living room is a joy. Oh! "The Twizzle"! Or anytime Mel Cooley would enter the office to be greeted by a "Blechhh" by Buddy. And "Never Name a Duck." American Cinematheque presents the 50th anniversary of The Dick Van Dyke Show. Screening are three classic episodes — "The Life and Love of Joe Coogan," "Very Old Shoes, Very Old Rice" and the aforementioned "Coast-to-Coast Big Mouth" — plus, clips from "October Eve." Most special of all will be a discussion between Rob Petrie (Dick Van Dyke) and Alan Brady (series creator Carl Reiner) themselves, moderated by Garry Marshall.
