Hooray for Hollies' World

Formed in Manchester in 1962, rock alchemists The Hollies — "Bus Stop," "Stop Stop Stop," "King Midas in Reverse" — occupy a rare and sainted stratosphere of popular music: They continue to perform and record all these decades later. Surprising that it took this long to happen: the world premiere of documentary The Hollies: Look Through Any Window, 1963-1975. Two hours of concert footage and interviews mark this first official documentary on the band, which includes Graham Nash, Allan Clarke, Tony Hicks and Bobby Elliott waxing rhapsodic about harmonies, lyrics, personal interplay and why they don't just go out and get real jobs. In person tonight: Nash and Clarke, pleasantly demonstrating that you don't have to go insane, overdose or otherwise become irrelevant to survive 50 years in modern music. Take that, Golden Earring! Aero Theatre, 1328 Montana Ave., Santa Monica; Thurs., Sept. 22, 7:30 p.m.; $11. (310) 260-1528, aerotheatre.com.
