Mr Nelson, What you wrote here was incorrect,"characterization of most every male as a sex-crazed creep." Did you see the movie? There were at least three decidedly un-creepy major male characters: Peter (David Strathairn), Jan (Nikolaj Lie Kaas), and Viko (Alexandru Potocean). Not to mention the fact that another UN officer, Zoe (Anna Anissimova), was not a "bitch" yet refused to help Kathryn.
The torture was much more horrific and actually much less graphic than "standard issue torture porn." If it happened to turn you on, I think that is a problem with you, not the cinematography. I am inclined to think this is your problem, since you, in classic misogynist form, characterize Bellucci as a pretty bitch. Maybe if she had been male, you would have instead seen the character as a depiction of the damage that "impartial" bureaucracy and protocol can inflict. Your bias also seems to prevent you from seeing the film as an illustration of institutionalized sexist oppression. You say, "where sex is involved, there's money to be made." AGAIN, did you watch the movie? The main financial point was made about the lucrative (Dyncorp) peacekeeping contract that couldn't be risked by scandal. Stop writing reviews, please.
