There's No Porno Like Old French Porno
The Good Old Naughty Days is the 2002 documentary produced by Arte France Cinema director Michel Reilhac that finally collects all those silent one-reel pornographic movies made in France between 1905 and 1930. Is anyone alive who remembers seeing these films in theaters when they first ran? Are there some kinds of erotica that are eternally exciting, or have tastes changed/matured/mutated (circle one or more) too drastically as the years have worn on? One thing you won't see, as the smut unspools before your very eyes: iPhones, shaved bodies, tattoos, that annoying downward angle of pose cultivated by years of MySpace radiation or any pretense of actors actively inspiring the arousal that plagues countless films, ironically inspired by the content of these films. No one under 17 will be admitted due to explicit sexual content.
