Warming Up

Yes, the baseball season starts ridiculously early and goes on forever. But we here in L.A. have one major advantage over most teams: the weather. Have you been watching non-Dodger early-season baseball? Snow, rain, sub-40-degree game temps — who needs that? The Atlanta Braves are coming to town for a four-game stand against the Dodgers, starting tonight, and the extended forecast calls for perfect baseball weather. Not only that, but the Braves bring with them former L.A. favorite Derek Lowe and the seemingly ageless Chipper Jones, plus there's a Thursday day game (half-price food and drinks!) at which the Dodgers will wear throwback Brooklyn uniforms from the 1940s. Frank McCourt may be cheaping out, Andre Ethier might be in his final season and Braves fans do that annoying tomahawk chop thing, but nothing beats a warm evening and a cold beer at Dodger Stadium amid newly beefed up security.
