OUR MR. BROOKS

If you could ask comedy legend Mel Brooks one question, what would it be? As part of a Benefit for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society , Mr. Brooks will take questions from the audience as part of discussion with his close friend and BBC creative director, Alan Yentob. There will be film clips from some of Brooks' classics, including Blazing Saddles, The History of the World Part One and Young Frankenstein, as well as his TV hit, Get Smart. The evening is hosted by Brooks' literary agent and friend, Ed Victor, who suffers from leukemia. It should be a fun and funny evening for a serious cause. And when it's your turn to ask a question, keep in mind loads of people have already asked him if he'll ever turn Blazing Saddles into a stage musical. His reply: "I'd love to, but I'd have to take out the front five rows for the campfire scene." Tickets include an "intimate" champagne and dessert reception (throw a pie in Brooks' face -- he'll love that). Geffen Playhouse, 10886 Le Conte Ave., Wstwd.; Mon., Sept. 27, 7:30 p.m.; $100-$250.
