New York–based dancer/choreographer Vanessa Anspaugh returns to her hometown for a shared performance with dance theater troupe MGM, which has made its mark adapting and structuring choreography to its specific performance site. Under the semi-unpronounceable umbrella title Blondenimiddlenowhere, the evening takes two different looks at issues of love and intimacy. In Anspaugh's We Are Weather, dancers Aretha Aoli, Lindsay Clark and Katerina Miller explore the dueling human tendencies to seek yet resist intimacy. The self-described "danz group" MGM Grand unveils its latest, Oneness: Making It With Love, danced by Biba Bell, Jmy Leary and Anspaugh.
Sept. 3-4, 8:30 p.m., 2010
