As it closes the exhibit "Chuck Jones: An Animator's Life From A to Z-Z-Z-Z" this weekend, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences follows up with screenings of Oscar-Winning Shorts Directed by Chuck Jones, a tribute to the legendary Warner Bros. animator who gave the world Pepé LePew, Road Runner, Wile E. Coyote and, perhaps most notably, Michigan J. Frog, star of just one cartoon (1955's One Froggy Evening), who decades later became the ubiquitous mascot of the WB Network. Among Jones' handiwork to be screened: Academy Award winners For Scent-Imental Reasons (1949), So Much for So Little (1949) and The Dot and the Line (1965), plus nominees, including Mouse Wreckers (1948), From A to Z-Z-Z-Z (1953), High Note (1960) and Beep Prepared (1961).
