A DJ set from DFA fave Juan Maclean is always a treat, and Otter Magic, which celebrates the birthday of one of its DJs/hosts, Mike Yljanic (aka Susan In Accounting), has got him this week. Victor Rodriguez spins as well, so expect a hypnotic, discolicious night of bumping and humping. El Centro (formerly Jimmyz Lounge), 6202 Santa Monica Blvd., L.A.; Fri., July 23. Rodriguez will also be behind the wheels at The Nest, a new weekly bash he's unveiling with Frontiers and Andres Rigal at brand-new locale the Villains Tavern, downtown. Partner in crime (and party time) DJ Chris Bowen spins, too. 1536 Palmetto St., L.A.; Tues., July 27. And proving that nothing is more interwoven — or more interesting — than L.A.'s mixed/gay club scene right now, Bowen's partner from Mustache Mondays, Nacho Nava, debuts a new one along with Cody Bayne called SML (Small, Medium and Large), a party for boys "of all sizes."
