ARROYO GOOD TIME

Here's one that's as L.A. as they come — the Lummis Day Festival, a celebration of locally made dance, art, stories and music, which this year moves to Heritage Square. The day opens at the historic 1900 Charles F. Lummis Home and Garden (200 E. Avenue 43) with a poetry reading by Mariano Zaro, Cece Peri, John Brantingham and Suzanne Lummis, plus an art exhibit and music by Evangina's Juli Crockett and Lisa Dee. At Heritage Square find Tex-Mex singer Ruben Martinez and His Balladeers, Latin-ska-reggae sounds by Upground, salsa by the Susie Hansen Latin Band, Gabriel Reyna Flamenco Troupe, dancers Las Alazanas, ballet Coco, the Puppets and Playsers Theater, among a gaggle of homebred talents. Food and crafts aplenty, too.
