FEELIN' . . . WHAT'S THAT WORD?

One should refrain as much as possible from using the "g" word, but when it comes to Topanga Days, one will be forgiven for declaring atop your Indian-print bedspread amid the colorful Hula-hoopers and tie-dyed happy-go-luckies and saying -- wait, where were we? -- how "groovy" everything is. This outdoor festival with an emphasis on music may be the friendliest and best-vibey happening of the year. Like, if Sunset Junction took Ecstasy instead of cheap beer and added grass and shade and bands that aren't angry. Alongside a fun kiddie area and slide, hippie-dippy arts & crap, "healing row," and beer & wine booths, headliners include Canned Heat, Maria McKee, Tony Gilkyson (Sat.); Ziggy Marley, the Meters (Experience, but still) with Leo Nocentelli, the Lions (Sun.); and Venice, Pine Mountain Logs, Charlie Vaughn. Big Will Geer Memorial Parade kicks off Monday.
Sat., May 29, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Sun., May 30, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.; Mon., May 31, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., 2010
