FRANK TALK ABOUT MUSIC
"Architects may come/And architects may go." So sang Simon & Garfunkel in "So Long, Frank Lloyd Wright." There's also "Alec Eiffel" by the Pixies. Why are there so few songs about architects? Which leads us to Conversations With Frank Gehry , in which the famous building designer will share with Barbara Isenberg, author of, coincidentally, Conversations With Frank Gehry, the music that has influenced him. We're thinking Lawrence Welk. Maybe not, but if you've eve been to ultra-sterile Walt Disney Hall, it's hard to imagine him listening to anything more exciting than the Vienna B. But it would be pretty funny to find out that his fave band is Bauhaus. This event benefits the Santa Monica High School Orchestra Program and also features a performance by cellist Lynne Harrell.
