Picture Brazil's four-day Carnaval celebration: thousands of costumed and near-bare revelers, nonstop frenetic dancing, outlandish parades, inappropriate but forgivable groping, live undulating music and inebriated partiers samba-ing into the night. Well, L.A. replicates the real deal -- and more -- all in one night at the 10th annual Brazilian Carnaval 2010: A Decade of Carnaval Delirium . Dating back to 1641, this traditional festival originally kicked off a ritual refrain from eating meat ( carnelevare means "taking away meat") 40 days before Easter. The abstention includes avoidance of other pleasures of the flesh, too, but tradition be damned. Join Club Nokia's wild party of Rio-style drummers and samba dancers teaching choreography on a massive dance floor, KCRW DJ Garth Trinidad spinning Carnaval dance music, the batucada rhythms of Chalo Eduardo and Brasilian Beat, famed Trio Elétrico with guitarist Armandinho (a.k.a. Brazil's Jimi Hendrix), Dodo and Osmar, along with food, crafts and fun. Club Nokia, 800 W. Olympic Blvd., dwntwn.; Sat., Feb. 20, 8 p.m.-2 a.m.; $38-$65.
