See Dick and Jane Put on a Show!

See Dick and Jane put on a show! Husband-and-wife musical act Jane Cantillon and Richard Ross, a.k.a. Dick and Jane, have called themselves the "Marty and Elayne of the folk set," but that's a misleading title. Since when were Marty and Elayne actually talented? Jane's been delivering her come-hither songs on local stages since before you could pronounce "Serge Gainsbourg." She's a g-d local treasure, is what she is, by gum. The couple's new monthly club is called There Goes the Neighborhood, which Cantillon describes as a place where "All the old punk-rock geezers can saddle up to the black patent leather bar and get drunk in the late afternoon while enjoying assorted fruits and nuts. The regulars are the cry/happy/cry sounds trio of Dick and Jane, with Lee Joseph on bass, and cool piano-bar tunes from Louis McMullen your 'bachelor' great uncle. This month we are featuring local legendary songbird Patria Jacobs, the traditional and twisted music of Dustbowl Revival, a short film by noted filmmaker Steve Hall, a special surprise guest drag queen show, and, of course, a set or two from Dick and Jane." Yes. She just wrote about herself in the third person.
