AS RICKY SAID TO LUCY, "TAKE A T.C."

Not to be confused with the Lootpack rapper or the Doors cover band, Wild Child is the title of the newest collection of short stories by T.C. Boyle, as well as the title of the book's 65-page feral-kid centerpiece. Boyle appears in person to explain it all at the WordTheatre literary salon, a series of works by acclaimed authors read by Hollywood actors. Performing the stories: Joel David Moore, Carla Gugino and Boyle himself (reading "The Lie," about a job-hating dad who tells his co-workers his little girl is dead). Next in the Sunday afternoon series: John Edgar Wideman's Briefs (March 21) and stories by Aimee Bender, Ron Carlson and Brad Watson (May 2). Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College Performing Arts Center, 1310 11th St., Santa Monica; Sun., Feb, 21, 3 p.m.; $35, $30 in advance. WordTheatre.com . --D.T.
Sun., Feb. 21, 3 p.m., 2010
