YO YAMAHA

Elton John. Rufus Wainwright. Norah Jones. Michael Bublé. Barry Manilow. Chick Corea. Michael Tilson Thomas. Abbey Simon. Alicia Keys. They may be all over the place musically, but they've got one thing in common: They're all "Yamaha Artists." Meaning, the Yamaha is their piano of choice -- which I can understand, because it's mine, too. I've got a great Yamaha studio upright that walks, talks and sounds like a grand. And it only cost me two grand! So what's the big deal about a Yamaha? Well, its rich sonorities, tonal balance and amazing responsiveness are a few of its merits. But you can hear for yourself at Redcat's Yamaha Piano All-Star Revue , a blow-'em-away lineup of keyboard wizards, including David Rosenboom, Vicki Ray (pictured), Anna Grinberg, Danny Holt, Milen Kirov, David Roitstein, Liam Viney and Juris Zvikovs. The very Redcatty evening features works by exceedingly strange musical bedfellows. Chinary Ung, Shaun Naidoo, Marc Lowenstein, Sergei Rachmaninoff -- and Radiohead? Cool!
