Do You Love Lucy?

Girlie-girls didn't get her. But for tomboys who yearned -- but didn't know how -- to reconcile their masculine and feminine traits, Xena came to the rescue. TV execs couldn't have predicted that an action-adventure about a mythical Grecian hottie avenging evil would fulfill the needs of girls struggling with their identities, but Xena: Warrior Princess, which ran from 1995 through 2001, helped encourage rough-and-tumble gals to embrace their masculine traits, bring out their feminine wiles, have good hair and send men through the roof. So don your brunette bangs for the 15th annual Xena Convention, where you can strap on your breastplate, grab your chakram and tap into your inner warrior. Friday is the only day, however, that Lucy Lawless (Xena) is appearing, but check the three-day sched for Renee O'Connor (Gabrielle), David Franklin (Brutus) and a slew of other Xena compatriots for autograph signings, photo ops, parties, costume parade and music-video competitions, karaoke, art exhibitions, yoga and cool stuff to buy.
Fri., Feb. 5; Sat., Feb. 6; Sun., Feb. 7, 2010
