First, The Godfather, then The Sopranos, and now the Jersey Shore. The eight big-haired, tanned-to-a-crisp, trash-tawking self-proclaimed guidos and guidettes on MTV's latest hit reality show are doing as much to help the image of Italian-Americans as the mob and pinky rings did. Sponsors like Domino's have pulled ads, and even the National Italian American Foundation is saying va fungool. But reinforced stereotypes are always fertile ground for comedy (those Funnyordie.com spoofs practically write themselves), and it looks like the paisans who make up "The Meatballs of Comedy" — all originally hailing from Back East — including host Tommy Tallarino and weekly guest comics have their hands full with more than just pasta. They may not wear tracksuits and gesture with their hands, but you still have much to fear. "You know why Mickey Mouse only has four fingers?" asks headlining duo Jimmy and Joey. "Because he talked too much." Ay oh! Miss them, and risk waking up with a horse's head in your bed.
