If you've had your fill of peppy good cheer this time of year, try the Nihilist International Film Festival for an existential change of pace. The 11th annual showcase presents a variety of short films from around the world, some profound, some silly and all totally meaningless. As festival director (and longtime host of now-defunct public-access TV show Nihilists' Corner
) Elisha Shapiro says, "How weird can a film get and still be entertaining?" While nihilists may not believe in anything, some apparently feel their TVs could use a bit of divine intervention, and they'll be hauling over their sets for the traditional "Blessing of the Televisions" prior to the show.
