Full of Craft

If you're looking for good, clean fun for the young 'uns, you'll hit the bull's-eye at the Target Free Family Day at the Japanese American National Museum. At 1 p.m. treat your kinder to Cold Tofu, a wacky holiday improv; at 3 p.m. settle in for A Jive Bomber's Christmas, a musical based on a group of Japanese-Americans who try to celebrate the holidays at a Wyoming internment camp during World War II. From 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. join Stella Lai for a giant robot workshop. Throughout the day there's craft-making galore; you'll design your own wrapping paper, pipe-cleaner snowflakes and ornaments using (what else?) origami. Stuff yourself with edible Christmas trees and menorahs (oy, digesting that shamus is a killer). Remember, the season is about giving, so bring an unwrapped toy for patients at Children's Hospital Los Angeles and ask for good health for everyone when you sit on Japanese Santa's lap.
Sat., Dec. 12, 11 a.m.-4 p.m., 2009
