It's fitting, then, that Fantastic Mr. Fox will preview this week at LACMA, among the fine artworks of past and present. Wes Anderson's stop-motion animated adaptation of Roald Dahl's beloved book, about a crafty fox plotting to keep his fellow woodland creatures fed under the noses of the local fat-cat farmers, looks like a real gas, bringing his oddball sensibilities and rock & roll whimsy to a genre where the possibilities for visual flair are truly endless. Did you think you'd ever see a film with both George Clooney and Pulp's Jarvis Cocker in the cast, even if it's just their voices?
