More About
That "unique and extraordinary" organization known as Chamber Music Palisades charges into its 2009-2010 season with an ambitious program that includes both the familiar and the unexpected. There's that soaring crowd-pleaser, Schubert's (pictured) "Trout" Quintet, as demanding as it is exquisite, and C.P.E. Bach's delightful Quartet in G Major for flute, viola, cello and piano. And then there's Rossini's Duo for Cello and Bass, a lesser-known masterpiece of technical wizardry and humor, and Max Reger's rarely performed Trio in G Major for flute, violin and viola. The members of CMP are all established virtuosi L.A. Philharmonic assistant concertmaster Bing Wang, principal viola Carrie Dennis and principal cello Peter Stumpf, along with acclaimed bassist Nick Abondolo, flutist Susan Greenberg and pianist Delores Stevens and their joint artistry and energy always makes for a transcendent musical experience.
