TERROR! GORE! -- SORE ASS!

It's a special feeling, hunkering down in the darkened depths of the New Beverly Cinema for a double feature of revival-filmic goodness — sometimes, if you're lucky, a triple feature. (Look for some dandy three-plays later this month around Halloween.) But it's once a year that the theater trots out the heavy guns and gore and opens its doors all bloody night long — the horror fan's equivalent of a lock-in at a pub — and 2009's "All-Night Horror Show" is this Saturday. The festivities kick off at 7:30 p.m. with Neil Marshall's excellent Dog Soldiers; followed by ultragory slasher Tony Maylam gem The Burning; then Lucio Fulci's splatteriffic House By the Cemetery; and continuing through the night until the Roger Corman–produced sci-fi shocker Galaxy of Terror unspools at 6 a.m. (There's even a secret movie at 1 a.m. — place your bets now!)
Sat., Oct. 10, 7:30 p.m., 2009
