Okay, we know you hate Twitter, or at least hate hearing about it. The first Twitter conference, 140| The Twitter Conference (yes, there are two!), to grace L.A. will be held at the Skirball Center and promises to be a strange mix, bringing together a hybrid of celebrities like Tom Arnold and geeks like Twitter founder Biz Stone and tech mogul Guy Kawasaki (who almost count as geek celebrities at this point). With speakers ranging from industry insiders to someone called Adventuregirl, the conference brings together all sorts of fervent devotees of the popular micro-blogging service (i.e., people seemingly mesmerized by their phones). Ever wonder what it takes to be a "Twitter God/Goddess?" Or just curious as to what hobnobbing with the Twitterati is actually like. Just don't be surprised if you end up with 100 strangers "following" you on the way out.
Tue., Sept. 22, 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Wed., Sept. 23, 2009
