HEAVY TRAFFIC

Being business partners with Perry Farrell notwithstanding, Aaron Cohen found his greatest success lay in freeing slaves from the deepest shit holes on Earth. While we know that slaves built the Pyramids and slaves built the Parthenon, the perception of slavery is that it tends to be something from a bygone age. In Slave Hunter: One Man's Global Quest to Free Victims of Human Trafficking (Simon Spotlight), Cohen shines the necessarily harsh light on this still-thriving atrocity, journeying into the whorehouses and drug dens of Third World nations, using what little money he had to free the women enslaved there, forging ahead to find still more pockets of the flesh trade that purportedly have become the world's fastest-growing illicit enterprise. The paradigm shift from his partied-out life came as a swift kick of satori to his psyche, the details of this transition will be revealed in tonight's eminently illuminating presentation.
