Dance Club Picks: Kraak and Smaak, West Indian Girl DJ Set, Dan Sena, Killed By Synth

Crave the chest-trembling depths of bass-heavy beats, or more of a slinky, funkazoid sound? Either way, an invigorating weekend of dance music awaits. Friday, Holland humpsters Kraak and Smaak heat up the Fonda with their soulful brand of rhythm and groove (a sexy genre-blend getting lots of attention thanks to K&S’s “Squeeze Me,” heard in those Rhapsody “girls floating in bubbles” commercials). Music Box, 6126 Hollywood Blvd., Hollywood; Fri., Nov. 21. www.henryfondatheater.com. Four on the Floor at the Mountain Bar offers the band West Indian Girl spinning their multifaceted influences, along with Echo Park disco-pimp Pants Off, plus Castaneda, Kissing Tigers and The Fling. 475 Gin Ling Way, Chinatown; Sat., Nov. 22. myspace.com/fouronthefloorla. And over at electrobot hub Tilt, it’s about bassin’ and bangin’ with deep ’n’ dirty thump-pushers Dan Sena of the Dim Mak gang, Sin City’s Teen Wolf and Grimehaus, Binary’s hard-hitting dance-heads The Kids Are Radioactive, and Fabian. Also with sets from cleverly named DJ crews and dudes Killed By Synth, On Off On, Synthamatic, Damage!, Optimus Grime and more. The Airliner, 2419 N. Broadway, Lincoln Heights; Sat., Nov. 22. myspace.com/tiltsundays.
